Mars is low on the horizon, for once. Still<br \/>\nAs a caught breath, the day, hushed,<br \/>\nHolds for a slow-golding time, the rose hints<br \/>\nOf bold and bright to come, of music<br \/>\nYet to be made, dances old as the village, new as tomorrow&#8217;s milk.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\n<p>How can it be, four billion, five hundred million years, the old<br \/>\nand battered Earth,<br \/>\nVeteran of ice and fire, meteor, petroleum, stupidity, avarice, ignorance<br \/>\nHow can it be, this innocence: ryetops waving hello, good morning,<br \/>\nBeads of crystal dew filled with beauty wash,<br \/>\nThe bright face of the Golden One coming,<br \/>\nBringing suit to his blue lover again,<\/p>\n<p>And Earth meeting him with an armload of flowers<br \/>\nAs if all the grief were undone, as if<br \/>\n(As it is)<br \/>\nThe sorrows and losses don&#8217;t matter, really,<br \/>\nNot in the face of this coming morning<br \/>\nWhen Earth says Yes<br \/>\nSun says I Am Here<\/p>\n<p>The great rounding of things stately in its time,<br \/>\nThe lone bird calling to a lightening sky:<br \/>\n<em><span class=\"highlightNode\">He is risen<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span class=\"highlightNode\">He is risen<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With love for all of you, on this the eve of May Day&#8230; May Morning Fresh as the day the world was made, This morning: dew-spattered through feather fans Of foxtail and wild rye.
